I'll second Acronis and use it to a variety of USB drives. I also copy all and everything I might need while on site to other drives so that I have data handy when. At a customer site I used to use Ghost for a number of servers which worked quite well. I personally just print everything nowadays just in case

I second that. No effing around with software. Use the /mir switch and it will only mirror new files. It also means if you PC fails you can just plug the drive into any other PC and use the files straight away.

Cheap backup (good on small number of files):

                  xcopy FROM TO /D:m-d-y /S

                  m-d-y - last backup date.

xcopy /? to double check settings that may be more appropriate for your data.
