I spent all day yesterday cleaning up a neighbour`s virus-riddled machine. It`s depressing because you know that, no matter what you tell them, it will be in the same state in a couple of months. Doesn`t help that she has a couple of teenage daughters.

There you go again, always looking at negatives....
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Eventually decided to set up a Limited XP account for the girls so that they can`t install anything.

Why would anyone in their right mind give up on repeat business? Even limiting the 'damage' they do is incredibly short sighted! Who the **** cares if they regularly need your professional attention and attendance?

You did write into any contract that repeated call outs or failure of the customer to abide by certain requirements or exceeding a pre determined number of fixes would result in additional charges etc etc?
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

Only if it's worth your while..

Platypus probably wasn't charging him enough for the service.

With some users you can never charge enough.
