I bought a studio 15 from dell last year and quite frankly the quality of the item is quite poor. The main complaint is with the screen which has developed bright spots which was probably caused by putting the laptop in the bag and rushing for trains and what not. Dell agreed to change the screen in the summer and since then the laptop has only been used at my desk but the new screen has developed the same problems.
The fact that the same problems have appeared I'd say were immaterial. The casing could well have been warped by the misuse and its this permanent warping which has been causing problems.Coffee's for closersComment

I can get the screen from ebay for about 120 quid but I think it is the fact that the problem is reoccuring and I might have to do that again in 6 months.Originally posted by TheFaQQer View PostI would get a local PC shop to give you a quote to repair the screen.
If Dell are still ****ing about, then tell them that you will sue them for whatever it costs to replace it. File a claim online with the small claims court - they will either repair it, replace it, or give you the money because it's a case that they will lose (if they bother to fight it).
If you get money, scrap the laptop and spend it on a decent brand.Comment
