    Oh! I see.

    Any reason proffered? I'm guessing not.

    Don't let it get you down, old dog.

    You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

      Cheers bog!

      It'll be fine, something will crop up.

            SomethingElseIThinkIsInTheCondition()

        SomethingElseWhichIsNowInTheCondition()

        Too bloody true VM!

        How many many million man hours have been wasted in debugging because of this simple case, I wonder?

          The BIOS routines were very handy for wandering through the File Allocation Table patching back together accidentally deleted files
          Yeah, just ask Peter!

            Indeed - for some reason, the (very early) version of Norton Utilities I had didn't actually undelete when you used the "undelete" functionality, so I once spent a pleasant two or three days recovering around 200K of 8086 assembly language, sector by sector

            It was a good job I knew the source so well that I could tell the sectors containing code from a few days before from the more recent ones

            Bummer about the gig Hugs are available over in TPD.

              Sorry, but no. I was reminiscing about my childhood programming hobby (asking questions rather than stating facts as it happens). If it makes you feel happy to demonstrate you know more than a 12-year-old, I won't take that away from you.

              You could mention it in your next interviews...

                a) this is Technical.
                b) you've over-reacted.
                My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

                  Your problem not mine. Also, the jibe about interviews, not big and certainly not clever.

                      Actually, you made the wrong assumption. I was responding to your know-it-all comment about (non)PCs/BIOS. If you're going include thinly veiled rudeness and act superior when you share knowledge, perhaps best not to bother, or at least not be surprised people call you a smartarse (do you deny it?)

                      Aw, your feelings are hurt. Nevermind, I'm sure it will soon blow (goats) over.
