    Odd transparent gif problem

    On my new laptop (purchased about three months back, so presumably has very latest xp) and on no other machines I find that transparent gifs on my website have gaps - any black in the image is rendered as transparent.

    Yet if I look at the same webpages and images on hard disk before uploading, they look fine.

    I don't understand this - same images, same machine, how can they look different? Cheers for any ideas.

    Actually wouldnt that render the GIfs with a mix of black, brown, white and yellow?
