    Networks, TCP/IP addressing et all

Can anyone recommend a book, course or DVD on networking i.e. explaining IP addressing, Port allocation etc etc.

    TIA.

    I'd suggest these:

TCP/IP Illustrated Volume 1: The Protocols - bit of a "classic" if there is such a thing.

    The TCP/IP Guide

          http://www.tcpipguide.com/

Is an excellent reference, including some more obscure information.

Cisco CCNA/CCNP Courseware is not too bad. Especially if you could couple it with actual course and hands-on exercises in lab on real hardware.
