    Not sure how to help you - if you can ping a website, you're proving DNS and end to end connectivity. If you can't get on it on port 80 then something is stopping you doing so, if it's not a firewall then not sure where else you can look.

    Settings on your internet router perhaps - worse case reset everything: wireless router to defaults, your wireles LAN connection details etc. Start from basic - turn everything off and keep it simple, add security etc as you test each step.

        Sounds like ff/IE proxy settings in tools -> connections -> Lan Settings...

        Any settings in IE may have been copied to FF when you started up FF. (dialog box opens up on frist run?)...
