    Copy A DVD

    Not for illegal purposes mind!

My wife works at a special school and they have a load of kids’ films on DVD. I have been asked to copy the disks so that they can use the backups to watch the films and keep the originals safe. I have a dual layer DVD writer and have bought some dual layer DVD's so that I could make a 1 for one copy but nothing seems to want to play. Nero spits the disk out because it is copy protected. I tried DVDxCopy but that is getting a little old and doesn't seem to have any awareness on dual layer writable DVD's. What would be the best tool for the job?
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

You can get duplicates of most DVDs at any decent video shop.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
Feist - I Feel It All
Feist - The Bad In Each Other (Later With Jools Holland)

It's showing its age now. It won't do lots of the newer Sony DVD's.

Doesn't help when you want to copy them onto a HTPC and keep the original in a safe place.

I use AnyDVD for this. It is a utility which allows defeats the copy protection and allows a standard disk copy app to work.

Alternatively DVDFab Platinum is a copy app which has the copy protect functionality built in.

              Both methods work well.

The best software I find for this is CloneDVD, it enables you to make an ISO Image of the DVD or purely copy it, so simple to use

DVD43 is good for removing region coding and other pesky attributes which prevent you from legally enjoying a DVD
