    Voip

What do I need to do to my router to allow VOIP to work? US robotics variety. Its saying the ports are blocked when I do testyourvoip.com test- but Im uncertain which / what to do

Depends on the VOIP - usually UDP 16384 - 32767 plus the signalling ports (H.323 for example - TCP 1720).

But that's really dependent on what kind of VOIP you're talking about.

Your VOIP provider ought to give you instructions on how to do this. Voipfone (my provider) has them on their website.

OK - lets ask this as well - who would recommend their voip supplier?

I would definitely recommend Voipfone - they have a good quality service.

Basic service is free and can be enough for many people. They are also cheaper than Skype when charges come into play.

One of my mates recently started raving about how wonderful fring is ( http://www.fring.com/ ) but I haven't really bothered looking at it yet.

            YMMV
