OK so without being duped, where can you buy Office 2003? How much?

Can you get an upgrade that means you can install anywhere, eg using Office 97-

I think it is worth checking out what software you need to have already to enable the upgrade version rather than the full version.

I installed Office 2003 SBE on one of my machines, the box said that the upgrade was valid if MS Works was on the machine, MS Works has been shipped with every computer I have ever bought.

Although in this case, MS Works had long been removed and I was upgrading from a ripped-off copy of Office 2000 It didn't cause any problems though.

That's probably because even when you uninstall MS Works it leaves loads of tench on your disk and in the registry which degrades the performance of your machine but saves MS the hassle of dealing with your support call if the later installation of an "upgrade" doesn't work because you "removed" MS Works.

As a general rule, if you "remove" some MS software but don't manually clean both the registry and assorted directories such as /Windows/system32/* then it's very unlikely that you've removed all traces of the software from your machine.

I had a look at those 'exams' the other week.

It's just a case of taking a free online course and then passing a test at the end of it.....
