Looking for RJ45 connectors that make a satisfying clunk when inserted in the socket (i.e. decent spring retention plastic bit), preferably with a load bar. Bought some RS ones and they crap.

Goggle still works.
I think the problem is the design so limited in what they can do, they're all susceptible to the plastic tab breaking off, with some coming with a 'hat' to slide over the end of the clip so it doesn't get snagged.
Shame they've not fixed it like they have with usb connectors so no longer need to faff making sure it's the right way around. They've finally solved USB with the simple design of USB-C.
I have loads of ethernet cables with broken clips so this thread made me finally see what solutions were out there that are simpler than recrimping a new connector on only to find the tab has broken off by the end of the process.
Anyone got a simpler solution than below that doesn't involve just buying another cable?
Not tried it yet but going to later.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on. -
