    webhosting, preferrably cheap

My wife works at our local arts centre and looks after the website. Currently she uses a host\package called DIY Workwithus which provides webspace and a user interface, with templates, which can be used to create\update the site without any knowledge of html etc. They've had a year for free but to continue they need to pay £175.00 includung VAT.

The website is a brochure type one and not huge and I was wondering if anyone new of a hosting company that offers the above functionality but cheaper.

    Cheers,
    Tony

          kcchosting (www.kcchosting.co.uk)

From approx £2 a month, have used for >3 years without any problem.
Why the avatar? Well anyone accused of plotting against Gordon Brown can't be all bad.

            Try 5quidhost.
They do a free plan (no ads), £5 per year or £2 per month at the bottom end.

              Hi,

I use PowWeb.com for all my hosting now - if you pay for two years, I think the current promotion is that you get 6 months free. It's $7.77 a month and offers lots of things, but might be overkill for what you need.

I think the OP wants continued access to the content management facilities (or at least an equivalent to what) he currently has, rather than a generic hosting solution.

gables, people might be able to help you more if you know the name of the system you use, or at least the feature list.

DIY Work With Us seems to be very specific - I guess the idea is that it's easy to use, but it doesn't seem to be a generic package.

If the costs are too steep, you might want to consider using something that is freeware like Joomla.

Well I would pimp my offering but we don't supply site builders.

That being said, you can download some very good newbie freindly open source programs available for building websites, I wuld suggest she have a look at some of them as they have a lot more functionality than your standard site builder.
