Warning - don't leave your laptop in the sun

Got a couple of old XP laptops sitting unused in cupboard, thought I might as well leave one in my cosy greenhouse for occasional story writing etc. Forgot to put it away and it was in the bright sun for hours, now screen is messed, coloured patch and poor definition on one side.

No big deal as I was thinking of chucking it anyway, just a tip for anyone who might make the same idiotic mistake with an expensive new one.

There's been some sun? In the UK? Enough to toast a laptop?

Yep was round here. Gray when I left it. Reaches almost 40'C in the greenhouse even before direct sun effect.

Hey! maybe that's how to get some sun, leave your expensive laptop out! The Great God Sod never fails us.
