Previous role : Burger flipper.
Current role : Director at MyCo

When I go to post it says my current role is Burger flipper?

Anyone come across this?

I did. And even better than that, both start and end dates are in the past.

When you are on the website (rather than the app) just click on your title and you will have the option to change it

That's it! It pre-populates it with whatever your current role was, but if you have 2 current roles, the latter supercedes, even when that role closes.

XXXX Consultant implies there is more than one of you, remember though LinkedIn could also be an aspriation as to what you WANT to be, rather than what you have been previously

Its why I stick with my LtdCo role in there even when I am on contract, as first and foremost I work for myself

I have this though, that's what I meant by two concurrent roles.

So I have MyCo 2007 - Present.
Burger Flipper July 2014 - June 2015.

It updated my title with Burger Flipper, hence superceding MyCo, even after I updated the Burger Flipper role to have ended. Don't make much sense to me, and I would call it out as a bug with a pretty good workaround as pointed out by your good self. Just something to watch out for is all.
