Last OSX update: battery charge difference?

Has anyone noticed a change to their battery life since the last update?

Isn't that a standard update "feature" accusation when there's a new bit of Apple kit coming out for the fanboi/gurl community to blow their pennies on?

My battery is hitting about 4 years now and has now notiably shorter life, think that would be a stretch for any technology not just Apple, I believe a new batter could be sourced fro about £100

My Mac is 4 years old (how time flies!!) and has been fine for hours without charging but since this weekend seems to suck the battery dry (I can see the percentage drop before my eyes, not something I've noticed before).
