    DVD+R or -R : What's the difference

Need to get some blank DVDs. What's the difference between +/-R? Is one better for traditional (non PC) DVD players?

    Cheers

I find +R works better in my DVD (movies) player than -R

Which discs does your DVD Writer take? I would get a few of each and work out which works best in your DVD player(s). Don't buy cheap unbranded discs, they are usually crap.

DVD+R is a dvd disc that allows multiple layers for one disc where as dvd-r only allows one layer.

The only better thing about +R is DL 8.4Gb Discs (Cost x10 of standard +R discs)

you;ll find a DVD+R will work with just aboiut any DVD player, -R may have problems with some especially generic models of DVD player

do a search in the camcorder part of avforums, there are a couple of good threads.
