Well if a contract using this product is worth taking up or is it a pain to work with compared to sql server etcOriginally posted by DimPrawnWhat did you want to know HW?whats the lowest you can do this for?Comment

I know a little bit about Intersystems Caché as I nearly did a contract using it.
It's not a relational database but a hierachical database technology (it is related to MUMPS, an obscure and rather strange technological "dead end").
There are SQL drivers to allow querying of the data but you are supposed to use Caché Basic (similar to VBScript) and Caché ObjectScript (which is compatible with MUMPS).
All rather odd and niche. Used a lot in the healthcare industry in the USA.First Law of Contracting: Only the strong surviveComment

I love the irony of using a product called MUMPS in the Health Industry. Anyone used ASP in a reptile zoo? Or Perl in a marina?Last edited by hyperD; 20 September 2006, 11:43.If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment
