One of the Legacy Primary Health Care systems is written in it. Cannot remember which one. EMIS for example is written in MUMPS but the MUMPS driver is really sh1t.
Have used an ODBC driver against it for extraction, but thats about it.

I know a little bit about Intersystems Caché as I nearly did a contract using it.
It's not a relational database but a hierachical database technology (it is related to MUMPS, an obscure and rather strange technological "dead end").
There are SQL drivers to allow querying of the data but you are supposed to use Caché Basic (similar to VBScript) and Caché ObjectScript (which is compatible with MUMPS).
All rather odd and niche. Used a lot in the healthcare industry in the USA.
