KVM switch for laptop - plan B

Current gig seems to be busy in bursts depending on how quickly the business gets it's act together to get the correct requirements.

I have at least a couple of hours each day I can be working on plan B.... 2 monitors connected to a splitter which goes to one DVI port on the work PC. 1 USB cable for keyboard and the old analogue green connector for the mouse.... Wanting to hook up my new Lenovo laptop to that setup so I can easily switch between the work devices.

Anybody know of a suitable product? Oh and laptop has mini hdmi....

Yeah but same could be said about doing some online training or browsing the web... Their work is priority but if I am on stand by for a couple of hours?

Doesn't really matter. It's client perception. If you are playing on the web they may not be that bothered, permies bugger about on the news sites etc as well. Blatently doing your own work is going to get flagged in a heart beat. It's not about the technicalities, it's about perception, particularly when you are a contractor and probably mistrusted by the permies. They may not be overly bothered about a lazy contractor but they will when he is making more money on their time. You can blag why you are doing some training but you can't when get caught working on your own stuff.

Sorry to continue the irrelevance and not address the original question, but...

Three words for you - professional working day.

The OP does the work, and then stops working for the day. After that, whatever he does with his time is an irrelevance to the client - the working day is complete as far as they are concerned.

What you say is correct as usual so if he has nothing to do go home and work on plan B there. Working on personal stuff at a client site isn't very clever whatever time he is on.

There is the assumption that the client will understand the professional working day thing which is a big assumption as well. Even if his client manager does the permies around him won't and if they start complaining it will only go one way.

He is loaning his tax money to a relative so has to be even more careful about getting binned.
