Hi,
As the post title says, I have been asked to provide £10m Civil Liability insurance for a new contract. After a bit of reading the key difference between Professional Liability and Civil liability is that under Civil liability you can be required to pay out even if you are not negligent....

Hi,
Can I get urgent help please.
My agency called on Friday evening saying that my role is now deemed inside IR35. I joined only on last Wednesday. I told them on Friday that I will think about whether to accept inside role or not. Agreement is signed and mentions outside IR35. Today I...

German Contract - Extension/Legal Entity Change
Hi everyone!
I have done a lot of reseearch into this and, while I've found bits and pieces of information that have helped (especially on these forums), I'm finding it difficult to get definitive advice on these particular circumstances so I appreciate any advice. (Apologies for the...

CL1 & IR35
I was wondering about the status of CL1 contracts and IR35.
I saw a lot of posts on here from circa 2015 that suggested all CL1 contracts were inside regardless of their clauses, and I'm wondering if that's still the case.
I've been told I'm going to be offered a CL1 contract...Last edited by socrates; 14 April 2019, 12:28.

Same client, different agency - advice please
I work for a large-scale programme. I came
in through one agency who lost their ability to supply me before my contract with them ended. They ran out of money on their contract with the programme.
They were unable to find work for me elsewhere and terminated my contract with them....

unfair business contract terms
I work as a self-employed agent for a merchant services company that provides card machines for business to accept card payments from their customers. Typical contract term is 48 months.
When I sign up a customer (merchant), this company pays me commission. Typically I have no previous...

Contract End Date wording - 'at the latest' ?
Hi guys,
Am having a bit of oddity with a contract extension.
Current contract schedule states - '... contract terminates on 2016-xx-xx'
The extension schedule states 'contract terminates at the latest on xxxx-xx-xx'

Take a 10% drop or hold off signing contract for better rate still not yet in the bag
Here's the thing. I've been offered a role with a new banking client at 10% less than my usual rate, gone through the checks through the agency ((quicker than expected I might add) and they sent my contract to sign 3 days ago. In the meantime, I've had another telephone interview for a similar role...Last edited by ziggystardust; 28 January 2016, 13:48.

Contract Restriction Clarification
Currently I am working as an IT Contractor in a company since past 8 months. My contract is going to finish in 2 days time and there is no more extension.
I have been offered a contract from another company which is not an associated company of my current client. Because I have an ex-colleague...

Non-Solicitation Issue
Hi all,
New to these forums.
I've done a fair bit of searching online and through the CUK forums however the issue surrounding non-solicitation clauses tends to differ case by case due to individual circumstance. Therefore I thought it'd be best to just ask!

Expiration Vs Termination - Termination Clauses Enforceable after Contract Expires?
Hey all,
I''m incorporated and contracting through an agency to a client.
The contract I signed with the agency specified a 12 month term for consultancy services to their client. That term is to complete in the next few days, the contract will then expire.
The contract...

What value is there to a contract; in the event of not enough hours of work ?
I'd be interested to hear what others think the recourse if any is when work dries up partway through a contract. I am not moaning about such a situation, simply trying to understand how others have dealt with it short of simply moving on.
Obviously it would be unwise to state minimum...

IT Contracts Lawyer
hi can anyone recommend a lawyer that specialises in the wording in IT Contracts?
For example I'm particularly interested in the EU Right to Work which may negate the 12 month restriction / handcuff clause.
thanks

Changing non IR35 contract clauses
I get the impression that a number of people on here get the wording of their contracts altered to make them more IR35 friendly.
Personally I've had no joy on this & have given up - I just bung money at my pension instead. On both occassions I've attempted to change the wording of...
