Multiple invoices really shouldn't make a difference as long as you can prove its a single purchase. Had the exact same issue with Apple recently. No luck getting a single invoice out of them but I can live with it as I have proof that it was a single purchase (all invoices have the same order number). HMRC should be pragmatic about this if it was queried.

More like they don't think / care that you're on FRS and could claim the VAT back no matter how they invoice.Originally posted by zappakat View PostI can't understand why Amazon would think this is how I want to do it, do they assume as a business I don't want to claim the VAT back?
I've emailed them and am awaiting a response, does this sound like I'll have to send the things back? I mean we're talking £400 of VAT.
Try contacting them and see whether they can issue a single invoice.

So I registered with Amazon under my business account, gave them my VAT number and waited for verification from them before purchasing.
Bought x amount of goods, all direct through Amazon and all on one order.
I couldn't check my VAT invoice as they don't generate one until all items have been dispatched.
So I checked it tonight and even though it is all on one order they have billed and invoiced as each bundle of items has been dispatched. That's 6 vat invoices for one order.

Or even try searching first....Originally posted by DirtyDog View PostI'd have thought it was enough, but you might want to ask this question in the Accounting / Legal sub-forum rather than in the Welcome section.

Cheers Simon, yeah I'm already checking that each item is stated as "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon."
Didn't think there would be a change to the VAT rate, I assumed that as my company was UK based that the VAT being charged to my company would be 20%?
I'll check it now.

Be careful with Amazon, although its one site it might be many separate resellers who could give you multiple invoices.Originally posted by zappakat View PostSo I've cleared it with my accountant that provided I purchase all the items from the same company on the same invoice and it is in excess of £2000 I can claim the VAT back on purchasing the items I need to build my works computer.
However not too sound stupid I just want to make sure I don't make a mistake.
All the items I want to buy are through Amazon, however my email address is already registered with them.
I've added my business bank card as an additional card and put down my invoice address with the name of my company at the top (although the address is the same)
Is that enough or will that cause an issue?
One way around it I guess would be to create a one off new email account but that seems a bit OTT.
I'm assuming someone has already been down this road?
Possibly not put the right terms in the site search.

Z

What VAT rate do Amazon use? Might not be the 20% you're expecting.Originally posted by zappakat View PostSo I've cleared it with my accountant that provided I purchase all the items from the same company on the same invoice and it is in excess of £2000 I can claim the VAT back on purchasing the items I need to build my works computer.

It's by no means OTT to run all company affairs through a separate email address. Assume you're already doing this already and so how much extra effort can it be to set up a separate Amazon account?
If not then get a domain for YourCo and have zappakat@..., purchasing@..., accounts@..., etc. all goes to the same mailbox but looks professional and easier to filter.
