Not sure how this information will be useful to you as it really depends on a host of factors such as location, what area of IT, skills and so on and so on. It can range from never been out of work for years and years to some people that have spent over 6 months on the bench and run out of money so went back permie. You need to plan for what you can afford rather than what the populace is doing. Can you survive on say about 10 months working a year. How long will your warchest last before running out etc.
Varies wildly as well. We see guys come on here saying they have had to have 3 face to face interviews with a technical test to others that secure roles with a single phone interview and don't meet the client until they turn up at work. You won't have to go through the rigmarole of being asked what your career aspirations are and how can you be an asset to the company and all that so it will focus mainly on your CV, what you have done and do you fit the role you are applying for perfectly.
