I had my pay Processed by Parasol and they have made a right bodge job of it and subsequently I have terminated there service which in my opinion is not there, As an Engineer who travels you would think they could keep to HMRC's tax dates but no they rather tax you twice and then have the cheek to say you can claim it back at then end of the tax year....

After my last experience yes I would. I ask the agency for a list of brolly's now before interview.

I have to wait 5-6 weeks for HMRC, to get my expenses back now, not impressed.

Just out of interest - would you refuse a contract if you were forced to work with an umbrella company that you didn't like?

There are lots of threads about Parasol on the forum, I had trouble with them too years ago and I wasn't the only one.

Bless ya Unfortunately we don't have a governing body - which we would all like - but there is a website called All Umbrella Companies are Equal that has over 30 umbrella companies as members and will raise issues that people have with their umbrella companies on their behalf

Although I do not use umbrellas, I am surprised by the above because I would have thought that such a well known outfit would be good at resolving issues.

It is bad enough for those that need to use umbrellas that it is not always easy to see the substance behind the offer before using the service. I shudder at the idea of relying on a two bit accountancy firm to have sufficient money to pay a few contractors just after the tax/vat comes due. You just do not need a bad experience with a big name company as well!

What is the nature of your complaint(s)?

Why don't you want to name and shame? Bad publicity is often a good way of putting things right....
