Not via the umbrella firm but you may be able to reclaim the income tax back via self assessment based on what Webberg posted on LinkedIn last week.

And this is actually an issue where I have been led to believe that HMRC may give ground were the umbrella firms to push the point - employees can claim for training related to their current jobs so the fact umbrella workers can't easily do so is a difference that needs to be addressed.

Neither of the things you describe are expenses that should be claimable.

a mouse is dual purpose and was the training course 100% related to the job you are doing and essential to get the work (not that that actually matters).

Paying into private pension and getting expenses

    Greetings,

I would like to get any feedback on any umbrella companies that provide a good service, allow salary sacrifice, and allow expenses for software/hardware, software training courses, etc.

I am currently working through Parasol and have had the most outrageous responses claiming for a training course, and buying a mouse. When claiming an expense, I have to explain what various IT concepts mean, to justify claiming an expense.. seriously.

Any positive information would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Clive
