I didn't sleep well last night and I woke up this morning thinking about Employers NI contributions.

Thanks for the tip off Lucy, there's obviously some salesmanship going on there from Paystream.

If I'm going to make the call based on sentiment then Danbro have the edge. They answer all my calls and laugh at my jokes. I get the impression from talking to Paystream that they're thinking "Oh no, not him again" every time I call so they gets their heads down to look otherwise busy as the Paystream foreman patrols the office with his truncheon.

Since Danbro are so nice I'd feel bad for not going with them. I'm just waiting for my agent to get back to me regarding monthly payroll to put my mind at rest.

Hate to break the news to you but most offer some kind of rewards scheme (and probably all ran by the same company)!

Paystream finally got back to me and it's good news. I can get money off my Asda shop every week. That swings the pendulum their way and I've had fun crunching the numbers through their rewards calculator.

It's been quite an exciting day, I've had Rhianna's Umbrella on repeat to get me in the mood. Ironically I was stood under my umbrella on the school run when Paystream called. The stars seem to be lining up towards them now.

    The options are:

Danbro monthly with money off prescriptions and shop at Aldi or
Paystream weekly and enjoy discounts at Asda

I missed a call from my agent so I've got another night to pore over the decision.

You aren't a newbie now. You are 194 posts in a should have picked up enough to do something yourself. A newbie comes on and asks a question a bit of guidance. You are drawing every single tiny decision out to unending tedium. It's draining. Do a bit yourself and people might be willing to help. Look like lazy incompetent idiot and people wont. It's not something that is unique to this forum.

We really don't care. Please try to sort something out for yourself without having to post another tedious me me me post.

NAT has already 'suggested' this to you.

This umbrella benefits thing is turning out to be a headache. The prescriptions saving at Danbro is only £25 and the £200 is for a 'dental accident'. The latter might come in handy after next year's CUK Christmas party but is not worth banking on. I can get a free eye test though.

Paystream have just reeled off a list of shops that give discounts including the major supermarkets. I have guaranteed spend there so could factor in the savings as a long term benefit if there's a permanent cashback card. I can't get an answer out of them though, they've stopped picking up the phone.

Danbro's shopping rewards are random group-on type discounts so I can't really predict any savings.

On the plus side, I just got my £10 Christmas bonus from the DWP. I might go out and get the Mrs a Christmas present now.

It does to the Agent who has lost out on a c£300 voucher for him personally more than likely.

People have definitely been shoe horned down the Limited Company route by greedy agents incentivised by Love2Shop vouchers and the like because Accountancy clients generate more profit for the companies so - they don't mind a higher cost of acquisition.

It's probably just a natural response to me not taking his advice to go ltd. He's a nice enough chap, I'd be offended by me too sometimes.

I had an interesting chat with Danbro this morning, apparently I can claim back £50 of my prescription expenses and up to £200 towards dental treatment using their Bupa care plan (included in margin). It seems too good to be true so I'll have to check the small print.
