This only removes the password protection on the sheets though, doesn't it? It doesn't remove the password protection to access the code.

Sorted it, found a freebie one that did the job.

It's actually an excel plug-in that removes the password altogether rather than trying to decipher it.

Can be found here if anyone else needs similar.

Look for "passware" - excellent tool. Costs though, unless you're into 'stealing' cracks.

Get it to crash. This normally defaults it into the VBA Editor.
Ie. Remove something its looking for and run it.

Tried a couple of the freeware pasword recovery / cracking tools found via google and got no joy. I was hoping someone would have some recommendations.

Excel workbook password

I've been asked to convert an excel workbook to web format. The original has lots of macros and VB script in it. Unfortunately the guy who built it put password protection on it so not only can I not see the code behind it I cant save it into any other format either. He's is now departed and no-one else here knows the password. Any suggestions on getting around this other than documenting all the functionality and starting from scratch?
