I think the D800/820 is worth considering too, I got one of those for testing 3D rendering on really shoddy Intel graphics chips.

Least risk option is a refurbished laptop that comes with XP.
Sorry if that's not the answer you are looking for, but it's the reality.
It's like me asking which Ford dealer is going to sell me a brand new Escort 1.6i Ghia.
Your best bet is a company like this:
Cheap Refurbished Dell Latitude D631 Laptop | The Laptop Centre
That will sell you a refurb model with a guarantee.
It's a business model. Solid construction, docking station, extended battery, media bay, etc. Driver support from the Dell website and it'll install the OS from Dell media without any bother of licence keys.
Get an ex-corporate refurb with 90 warranty.
Minimum spec. I'd bother with is 2GHz. Fastest CPU that will fit is the T9500.

Okay. Let me answer this for you.
The question is this:
Which current (modern) laptop can run (has all the drivers certified) for Windows XP?
Answer:
None
No manufacturer is going to run a modern (available new) laptop with XP. XP is long dead and no one is going to pay out for drivers for XP on their modern hardware.
Least risk option is a refurbished laptop that comes with XP.

As a long-time contractor the first thing I do when I snag a new role is to create a virtual PC with the preferred OS and all the tools loaded. This means my build environment is shielded from the vagaries of hardware changes and makes it readily portable.
As I have repeatedly stated above, this DOES NOT WORK for the piece of software I am currently using so I need concrete suggestions for current laptops that are specifically known to run XP x32.
Thanks for your kind attention,
Boo
So, what's so oddball about this 'app' then? Dongle/FlaxLM. If you don't know just say.
There are no laptops that run this unknown XP x32....
Perhaps you need this?
WindowsRG Fullscreen Demo

Is it important that every piece of hardware works or are you content to have a working OS + display and input devices? That would increase your options somewhat.
I ran XP on my i7-2600 / Asus mobo for a while because there were no Win 7 drivers available for a particular piece of hardware I own. I'd expect any laptop based on similar hardware to work to a degree but you might lose stuff like USB3.0, audio, network etc, which is harder to work around in a laptop.Last edited by doodab; 3 July 2013, 17:56.
