    Your battery is doing well, assuming it's not been replaced since 2006.

    Aren't Apple phone/data contracts usually more expensive than other makes of phone?

    Any idea if their PAYG option for £71.99 has any hidden gotchas, such as having to top up every month and what credit you don't use in a time period you lose?

    This is what I'm thinking, if I have a phone contract with unlimited data that can be a WiFi hotspot, why would I need to pay for a seperate 3G connection for the iPad?

    I tether my ipad to my iphone. You don't need to jailbreak it, iOS 4.3 allows you to turn your phone into a hotspot. I also have one of these:

    All android 2.2 and higher( so both galaxies, all HTC desire and all new ones) should be able to do it. Plus you can turn your phone into a hot spot.

    I understand the Samsung Galaxy S2, although probably Android specifically as the OS can be tethered, sorry but not tried it yet.

    If wireless isn't available it is the option.

    Doable but it slaughters the iPhone battery...

    Plus you need to jailbreak the iPhone.

    I'm in Welsh Wales now on me iPad 3G with a 1gb data plan tenner a month and in two days I've used 8mb of it.
