Check that you have cookies enabled (although you shouldn't need third-party cookies). Also, make sure you don't have "Clear private data when I close Firefox" enabled. Finally, check that you don't have it set up to always start in a private browsing session.

If none of that helps there may be more ideas at support.mozilla.com.

FF does keep my passwords and usernames, but I do have to login (a single click).

Yes, I have that as well.

Under IE, I can remain continuously logged into a site, like this one when I start a new session. Firefox doesnt do that for me. It ends my session when I close down the laptop.

when I start a new session on the laptop, although FF remember the username and password for each site, I have to log in to each site, something I dont need to do in IE.

Im just wondering if FF is designed to operate this way. All the settings I can find including those on a web site are set (to my mind) to keep me logged in, but im not!

    started a topic Firefox

    Firefox

OK switched over to Firefox but Im finding it doesnt retain my login to sites when I open a new session as per IE.

Is this a deliberate function of Firefox? On a site that needs my login it, it presents them when I type the first letters but is there anyway you can set it to it doesnt need re entering every time?

In tools, options, privacy, settings, I have it set to not delete active log in nor saved passwords.
Working...
