WNS - Been using their products for years, never had a problem, even with 3 kids dropping the mouse and spilling stuff on the K/B

If your feeling flush you could try the Das III Keyboard.
Nice looking, bit toppy though.

I ended up buying this:
Microsoft Wireless Desktop 3000 - MFC-00007: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
spent last half of today using it and its quite nice.
Mouse has a nice heft to it, although the scrollwheel is completely smooth - no clicks - which was a little disconcerting at first. The mouse uses a blue laser... supposed to be better but since I didn't have any problems with the old red laser mouse on my study desk I can't tell if it is better or not!
Keyboard itself feels like its halfway between a laptop and a regular keyboard. Nice amount of key travel but not too much and fairly quiet.
All except for the shortcut buttons worked prior to running the install CD

Having spent far too long looking around and reading various reviews I've settled on this:

Looks nice but I would like a number pad though....
Thanks for the batteries though, they look very very handy!

In my experience though that happens very infrequently with modern wireless keyboards/mice. I use both at my office PC and have just had to replace the mouse one - cant even remember when i last had to do it but it was a looooong time ago and this PC is in use every day.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostI've got a few of these lying around but won't buy another because when the batteries run out in the middle of working on something, you're stuffed

The looks the ticket... it lacks the curves of the other microsoft keyboard so will be less bulky on the desk and it's cheaper than the logitech set I was thinking ofOriginally posted by Clippy View PostI use the keyboard from the Microsoft Wireless Media Desktop 1000

I use the keyboard from the Microsoft Wireless Media Desktop 1000 and a Logitech MX Revolution Wireless Laser Mouse.
I don't to a lot of typing but the keyboard has a solid feel and a low profile.
The mouse, again, is solid and fits really well in my hand - comes with a 5yr guarantee too.
Whatever you do, don't buy any Labtec products - cheap and nasty.
