Erm, no one is hosting my domain, that's why I'm here asking for suggestions! I just bought the domain only a little while ago from 123reg.

They will be holding your cname entries (I think that's what they are called) and forwarding your email - just login in to their admin area and change the forwarding to gmail.

You want google apps for your domain, the standard edition (free)

I allows you to use google mail as the proper destination for your domain, also if you have a few bods using that domain name, you can share calenders, docs, contacts etc

Have a few clients using it and v-happy with it.

I'm not sure it always masques the email address. I found that it did in some cases but not in others with the From address being something like From: me@myco.co.uk on behalf of me@googlemail.com.

You need to setup google apps for your domain then that doesn't happen.

Could have had something to do with which client software the recipient was using. Can't remember now.

I used Instant Mail from 1and1.co.uk before transferring to a hosting package. Instant Mail is only around 70p/month

Well, I never even considered gmail - have just had a look at it. Seems I can do IMAP okay, and send 'from' gmail, masquerading as mydomain.co.uk.

So, I guess I still need to host mydomain.co.uk somewhere else & have gmail retrieve it - any suggestions where I can do this.

gmail - here too. have it suck of email from the mail hosting I have and combine with other accounts. It holds a lot more e-mail that the hosting I pay for. Which is why I use it.

+1 for gmail - it can also do domain masquerading so email looks to be coming from yourco.co.uk
