there is some software that will let you download a BBCiPlayer stream and save it as an .mov then you can watch it via Quick time or on your ipod ect.

    The file name is ipdl.exe

pm me and I email it to you.

I have two of these http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna...dt1&sku=189447

I couldn't fit two of anything wider than them on my desk.

You could remotely debug from one PC to the other, if you were seriously interested in having an iPlayer-friendly setup

Yeah it's annoying. Interestingly, C4's on demand player doesn't have this bug, but I think iPlayer uses different technology for streaming video - most others use the Windows Media Player which is why they're Windows-only while iPlayer works on the Mac.

I'd rather have a smaller monitor with the same or greater resolution myself. As soon as I get off the bench I'm upgrading - possibly a 24" 16:9. I will probably keep the current one for a 2nd monitor to have 'youtube' running alongside.

Indeed, I went for 2 4:3 monitors rather than one big widescreen one (it's quite hard to find decent 4:3 monitors these days I found though).

If I ONLY used my PC for work, I reckon I might get 3 widescreen monitors and turn them all to portrait mode. But that will really not work with watching DVDs or playing games.

I have dual 20 inch DELL monitors and I am pretty happy with that, 3200 * 1200.

Cost myCo 800 quid about 4 years ago.

I have had the 27" dell ultrasharp for 5 months now. The first week I was sure it was too big. Now I love it and hate using anything smaller. Being able to have multiple documents avaialable for easy copy paste actions is a breeze.

Also playing games in a window whilst seeing new mail / messenger info is also so intuitive.

Expensive but as a contractor worth the small number of hours needed to earn it.

Personally I think 22-24 is about the optimum size, any bigger and it's like sitting at the front of the cinema where you have to move your head side to side in order to see what’s going on.

I went for a 22” 16:9 which seems a bit odd at first as most wide screen monitors are 16:10, it has HDMI so I may find another use for it in the future as a dedicated movie screen.

I am sat in front of a cheap Digimate 24" widescreen (an ebuyer special) at my client site which MyCo has bought for me to plug my laptop into - and it is very nice.
