If you really want to burn £££
I think you can have a 1.2m dish without planning permission - if not in a conservation area or under a section 4 order.
I use a triax td88 with a good quality lnb (total cost £250 inc motor) and pull in most things between the Spanish stuff on 30W and the greek/ Turkish stuff out around 39-45E.
Before spending real money I would look at the coverage maps for the services that you might be interested in (most people don't bother with much other than 13E,19E and 28E which covers most european stuff).

I've ordered one of these for youOriginally posted by zeitghost View PostBear in mind the planning consent requirements for a) more than one dish and b) a dish more than 1m in diameter.
From my own playing around with these things, the signals from Sky at 29E are much lower level than most of the other signals, the stuff at 19E comes storming in on a 90cm Lidl dish by comparison.
Flat roof mounting does have its downsides, like it tends to make holes in the membrane...

Is the site exposed to wind? Can be a big issue with large dishes
alsat? satkings? sataid?
ring satcure?
a couple of hundred quid will give you a polar mount and a decent size dish. Is

The absolute dog's bollocks in motorized satellite dishes
Can anyone recommend a flat-roof installable model, up to c. £ 2K, or a forum where they discuss these things.
It can be somewhat larger than a standard dish, but not 10 feet in diameter or something or else weight (and expense) would be a problem.
Thanks in anticipation.Tags: None
