Ok Kojy! Not sure if it was just that change as made several others, changing names of pages and images to reflect content etc, but much better now. Page 1 or 2 on some likely searches.

Added RewriteRule /1000$ to robots.txt and submitted a new Sitemap. See if that works.

Spam site links damaging Google search
Noticed my small business website is showing poorly on Google and checked Search Console. There are a number of urls listed with 1000 appended. Appears this is due to spam websites linking to your pages. According to this site you can ignore these as they have no impact on SEO.
Why /1000 URLs in Google Search Console Aren't a Problem - Fueld
This is untrue, in Search Console the 1000 appended version is the Google-selected canonical and the fake pages are listed higher on Google than the real pages and they don't load properly.
Fake page on page 1 of Google:
British Wildlife Identification Sheets
Real page on page 2 of Google:
British Wildlife Identification Sheets
Can't find any solutions on Google, except ones that supposedly work for Wordpress which I don't use. Any webby CUKers got any ideas? Cheers.Last edited by xoggoth; 30 May 2025, 12:47.Tags: None
