I was going to +1 for airalo, used them in USA, Canada, Mexico and Thailand so far with no issues. Only for data, although the Thai eSim did come with a number of free call minutes.

Thanks for the replies. I’ve found buzzesim which offers 15 days unlimited data (and calls) for £15.50 each.

https://www.airalo.com/united-states-esim do esims - the problem is mobile data in the states isn't the cheap price it is in the UK...

PS. there are eSims for sale on eBay but don't know if they're any good or not. These only work in compatible phones, and they need to be unlocked too.

    Eg.

I'm with giffgaff, who offer free roaming in EU, but their roaming charges in US are steep.

I suspect you'll find similar with other providers. As mentioned in the above thread, you're probably better off getting a USA sim card, and there's a link to this site:

There are USA sim cards for sale on eBay but I don't know if I'd trust them.

NB. make sure all your phones are unlocked before you go

    eSIM

I’m after a bit of advice. My family and I are off to California for our holidays. 4 of us need data for our phones and one (me) needs calls and data. My uk supplier roaming charges are spiteful. Does anyone have recommendations for eSIM suppliers, or do I buy PAYG sim when I arrive?

Working...
