Azure cost of test development website.

Trust me i don't need spare azure resources, it's not exactly difficult for me to get them.

I was joking, obviously you are already in the matrix. Hope this 300 GBP offer works out indeed. I mean I don't mind learning their crappy software and then working with it, but I do mind having to pay to learn it. I mean I have expenses here... I can't be just throwing money out the window.

I'm still travelling (missed connection at schipol) but a quick search shows joining visual studio essentials (it's free) will get you $300 in azure credits a year. It will also give you visual studio 2017 for nowt which isn't bad given the difference between essentials and professional are zilch for 99.999% of use cases.

If that is true I will give you 20 GBP for the information. You know. In azure resource usage.

On a Shared Plan looks like it is 10 gbp / month for 1 web site + 1 DB. Looks like some traffic is included otherwise should have mentioned something..

I don't think that we are looking at the leading edge technology forecaster here...

test systems can be switched on and off when being tested. It will cost peanuts and azure credits are easily available if you look (they came with action pack and msdn if you can't find them anywhere else)

As for MS losing their position, it's number 1 or 2 in the cloud depending on what market you are talking about. For sme it's number one due to ease of setup and is the only cloud used at the $xbn client i was at today.

Does anyone know what the monthly cost will be to get an Azure pay as you go subscription but only for development testing, so there will be no traffic. Effectively I only need 2 or 3 web applications ( web sites or whatever they are called ) and 2 - 3 very small databases for these web apps. So no VMs or heavy traffic.

Personally I think charging developers even to be able to test their cloud service is just another confirmation that Microsoft are loosing their game faster and faster.
