This reminds me of the story of Ritchie Blackmore kicking a security guard in the face (who was punching a female fan) during a gig in Vienna. The roadies tried to smuggle him out in an equipment case, but the police found him and he ended up in the cells for a night. They got him out just in time to rush him to the next gig in Munich, even though they went on several hours late.
