Possibly, but I'd bet there's a NDA in place, a bit like Aldi cornflakes may or may not be made by Kelloggs etc. Also with a Dell branded one you get them factory calibrated, and a free return even if you get 1(!) hot pixel within 3 years. Personally I'd put up with it as it wouldn't be worth the hassle of returning it but anyway.

Currently thinking 4k monitors are only bit dearer, might go for 2 4k ones.

Kellogg don't make for anyone else but it will be one of the major cereal players.

What are you using currently and what is your GPU? Not all GPUs support 2x4K . If you already have decent 1080p display(s) you can mix and match - one 4K for the main tasks and your existing 1080p for the side tasks

Although for many borderline Aspergus developers, two monitors which don't precisely align may be an issue... annoyingly I have two identical monitors but can I get the same colours on both, can I damnit.

2x27" (Let alone 4x27") is a bit too much for me. You need a lot of desk space (which i don't have) and thankfully I'm still youngish and my eyesight is good, I can fit most of what i need for work or pleasure on a single 27" 4K. Only miss dual display if I play a game full screen and want something like chat or guide or a movie to run in parallel.

I am leaning towards the Dell's, I currently run 2x24" but think 2x27" might be good, how do find the 27" in real world use i.e. is it the sweet spot for the size for this resolution? I do a bit of Lightroom so the extra acreage would come in handy.

Anytime I have tried something else than Dell display I have been bitterly disappointed, so i try to stick with Dell whenever possible (currently with Dell P2715Q)

From experience at ClientCos NEC aren't bad either.

Generally whichever brand you pick - go for IPS display and stay the hell away from TN especially in multi display setup where you don't stand directly in front of it and the abysmal viewing angles of the TN are painfully noticeable.

For price generally Amazon tend to have the best price all around, unless there is some specific heavy discount at another retailer. You can use https://www.idealo.co.uk/ to compare current prices of specific items.

DL;DR - Dell P2416D seems to fit in your criteria and is £250 at amazon

Some alright stuff on this search. Those BenQ seem just about alright and most of the complaints appear to be about the supplied stands, which isn't going to be a problem if you get a clamp/arm.

Any recommendations? The Dell Ultrasharps seem to get good reviews though a bit more than I wanted to pay ideally.

Reqts:

DisplayPort 1.2 Out (I like the idea of daisy chaining them, less clutter)
VESA (will be used with a 2 or 4 way stand)
Thin bezel
Ideally have night time/reading modes but not a deal breaker
Around 200 clams each?
Not an avid gamer so fast response isn't important

Any pointers on where deals can crop up would be appreciated, I keep an eye on HUKD.
