It seems this isn't available, I'm guessing it's perhaps been superseded by the Y858V or possibly the Y900?

Yeah true the Hauwei supports a separate antennae, I don't think the others do. But it's starting to push the price up a bit to go for the pricier option and then potentially spend another £10 or so. But then if I end up needing it that'd be a bummer - though I might just return it and get the other one in that case thanks to Prime and Amazon's excellent return policy
From using the Osprey I got enough signal once I found which room to put it in, I'm assuming any of these will be better but is that a reasonable expectation?

Second one looks most like something from Blakes 7. So go for that.
I notice on Amazon a link to an external antenna for 3/4G. I wonder how much that would boost your speed? It's got to be better getting the signal from outside.

In Cornwall, it's more down to where you actually are than anything else.
Using my phone as a WiFi hotspot for my laptop always worked well enough for me when there was reception. If you need definite reception, head to a McD's for a coffee or a pub with The Cloud.

Choosing a 4G WiFi router to work somewhere without broadband
Following on from a previous discussion (http://forums.contractoruk.com/techn...ring-down.html)
I've narrowed my choice down to 3 items, I think, for another week spent in Cornwall where there is no broadband and I need to work. A fairly decent but not full-strength 4G signal is available through EE but nobody else.
I already have the EE Osprey device but am not happy with it although it is workable at a push. The contenders seem to be:
TP-LINK M7350 (£68.88)
TP-LINK TL-MR6400 (£78.80)
Huawei E5377s-32 (£79.99)
I'm slightly drawn to the one with the external antennae but no idea if they actually work better. All have good reviews. I don't need something that will work off a battery as a 'mobile hotspot'.
Are these sort of things all much of a muchness or can anyone help me pick?Tags: None
