Thumbs up for pcspecialist. Especially if you like to customise the s*** out of your PC. Not sure about laptops, but I got a really nice desktop rig from them, up to my inflated spec and it rocks. They are not the cheapest though...
They can assemble it in a couple of days too, for a few extra quid.

I have a Dell XPS 15, now 2 years old, but the current incarnation of it looks HOT.
Sorry is above your budget but take a look anyway.
Just remember that if you are buying through your company, its an expense and save you the CT.
Also if you are on VAT FRS then spend over 2k on 1 invoice and you can claim the VAT back. Get a NAS or similar for storage or something similar.
e.g.
2k purchase inc VAT means you can claim back £333.33 from the VAT man.
Also also 20% of £1666.67 namely £333.33 less CT to pay.
Always things to consider when buying business equipment.
Apologies if I am not quite right about the actual values, but it is something in that ball park.
Accountants can confirm.Last edited by Scrag Meister; 12 August 2014, 12:39.

I had 450GB and I filled that up in no time. I then had to image over to a 1TB disk. And even that is starting to look a bit small.
Than I have to back that up. so have to get a 4TB desktop backup unit.

Best all-round laptop for under £1k inc. VAT?
Hi all,
Can anyone recommend a laptop for me? Budget is up to £1,000 inc. VAT (although ideally less!)
Must be 15" or bigger
Must be able to handle Microsoft Flight Simulator X at max settings
Must not be a Mac :P
Must have at least 250GB storage
Must have a CD burner
Must have a resolution of 1366 x 768 or higher
Must be able to deal with crunching a lot of data from time to time (I'll be using it for business as well as pleasure)
Must have the best processor and graphics card combination possible for that budget
Ideally must have a multi-output soundcard (for using Traktor to cue songs through headphones) - although this isn't critical
Ideally must have Windows 8 - although Windows 7 is fine
Ideally must have a matte screen - although glossy is fine
Not important: SSD (although would be nice to have), weight, battery life, brand (as long as it's not a Mac!), form factor/design
Any ideas would be appreciated!Tags: None
