A couple of German friends rent out a cottage in northern Spain - it's very scenic, rural, yet close to the beach (15 mins walk) and 5 mins drive from Comillas (down the coast from Santander). Following is the site I put up for them in English, although their normal clients are German or Spanish.

Definitely not for the Benidorm set, although you may have to brush up on the sign language as you'll meet few English speakers around there (they never have any trouble accepting cash tho ). Also, although summer is warm enough, it's not as hot as the Med, and like England you can have showers, hence the green countryside.

I've got a small place you can rent. It's £20000 per week and sleeps 140. Let me know if interested.

Ring up one the letting agents in the port or wherever you want to stay. There are millions of places to let cause housing boom a few years ago and then euro crash etc means no one is buying or moving out there.
As long as you don't pick a tourist hub you can get a bloody bargain if you stick to your guns.
You wanting quiet break or holiday/nightlife type thing?

Apartment in Spain
Maybe a long shot here, but I'm due to finish my current contract at the end of June and was thinking of taking a week or so break in Spain before looking around for my next gig.
I've never been to Spain but thought it possible that a CUK member may have an apartment they rent out... let me know.
