There used to be a time when agents were polite, returned your e-mails and calls (well some of mine did) and then the recession kicked in and they don't have to bother with that any more because its you and 3000 other candidates vying for a job that pays peanuts.

Just thought I'd come and join you all on the "bench" since I have been lurking for a wee while - some great threads on here, mostly about agencies trying it on with rates and references, etc. Whilst reading them I've thought "they tried that with me!" Finished last contract in mid Feb so fingers crossed I'm not on the bench as long as last year (7months).
