I think the implication is that 55% of people could read it at a normal or near-normal speed, rather than having to pause over every word and decipher it.Originally posted by Swiss Tony View PostCan anyone not read it? I would be interested to know what the other 45% are made up of, i.e. not just dyslexics I presume.
Would it be those that learnt English as a second language …. ?
The mind boggles

Are you a GP? I had a note from my GP on my repeat prescription, but I can't read it. Perhaps you could translate.Originally posted by xoggoth View PostI could read that at totally normal speed, given the spelling on here, a useful knack for us 55%. However, if anyone can come up with a way I can read my own handwriting I would be most grateful.

Back on topic
I have always found this stuff interesting, I read that with no problems.
I always understood that your eyes only pass a fraction of the information to your brain that you think you see, your brain fills the rest of the picture in.
That is why, under certain influences, your brain can complete completely the wrong picture.
Years ago, out clubbing one night, I once spent ages intently watching an "Exit" sign, convinced that I was watching a monitor showing a cricketer being run-out on a repeating loop.
My brain interpreted the green sign as the glow of an old colour TV monitor, the door on the sign as the stumps, the figure on the sign as a cricketer running, and the dashed line between the figure and the door as a cricket ball moving through the air.
It was a long time ago, I have grown up and don't have nights out like that any more.
