Shorty tells me that his contract stipulates that he must produce a quality deliverable within a set period of time (but not too early) to the satisfaction of the user acceptance test team, otherwise he may come under IR35.

Also make sure that they don't walk away and leave you to your own devices just after giving you that raise....
