Looking at this, I think they run the country.

Its the HO run by Captia now? Missus deals with them a lot these days. Really aggressive and - according to wife - breaching all sorts of procedure rules all the time. If Captia were responsible than it doesn't surprise me. No doubt they've been given targets to meet and cash if they meet them.

What we should really do to ensure world peace is to milk all males of their sperm as soon as they hit puberty and then castrate them. The sperm would all be stored anonymously and handed out at random so nobody knew who their kids were. That would cure all the racial conflicts too.
There wouldn't be much worth living for anyway.

It lets them tick boxes. Exclude this potentially beneficial woman and there's one less foreign criminal they need to get rid of to maintain the monthly quota.

That said, given all the decisions they constantly have to make and given so much deception by applicants, it probably isn't easy to get it right all the time. You can't let considerations of humanity outweigh all others and give everyone the benefit of the doubt or you'd have to let everyone in.

Also, now it's hit the papers we have the details, but did they? Resources are not unlimited. 15 mins and a few phone calls per claim is all we should generally expect our border staff to make.

Directly yes,but most of the worlds problems are caused by randy blokes who aren't getting any nookie so ultimately women are the cause, and the solution

Can you imagine their being so many jihadis if they were busy get their end away with a real woman ?

I would be happy for the sister to come here without her baby. After all if you are recovering from major surgery you can't really look after a very small child without help and the baby's father will be in Jamaica.

BTW I heard about this case about 6 months ago though they never say how old the baby is.
Separating mother and baby for several months is unlikely to be good for either. Quite feasable that the wife of the patient has agreed to do babycare.

I agree. Whatever the rules, there has to be some room for basic humanity. It's one thing to monitor what she does and where she goes and to apply conditions to her presence, but this is a case where a man needs treatment to keep him alive and of course so that he can go back to work and continue contributing to society, which it would appear he has done since he arrived in the UK. Honestly, some people need to show a little humanity instead of assuming guilt where there isn't any evidence and where it's quite feasible to make arrangements.

Not new to Jamaica, kidney transplant was first done at the Kingston Public Hospital in the 1970s. Approximately 45 cases were done, but the procedures stopped about seven years ago.

If Olympic atheletes who are probably pretty well off in their own countries are willing to abscond it sort of raises the bar for the rest.

Though even I think that in this case assuming they had been matched it would have been humane to let her through. I assume his MP will get involved and further assurances gained then it will go ahead.
None of those people are from Jamaica.

She has children and an elderly mother in Jamaica.

There's a chance she might abscond, but seems to me, on balance, an acceptable risk.
