    Given the long list of things Google have taken on with a big fanfare as a service to the community and then neglected and left to wither and die, they remind me of an orphanage that with heart warming charity never refuses to accept any infant brought to its door.

    But out in the back, behind some bushes at the end of the garden, is an ever growing pile of small skeletons.

    To take one example, besides of course usenet which they ran into the ground, most of the Google Street View photos are now over four years old. So it looks like that has also been abandoned.
