I understand slavery occurs in such regions. Just difficult to fathom an international organisation supports so many deaths so that others can kick a ball of compressed air.

How does that compare to the death rate of construction workers in India ?
It sounds bad, but I can't imagine India being a hot bed of health and safety either

Not really new news I'm afraid. Migrants from poor countries like Nepal, Bangladesh etc have been treated like slaves in that part of the world for years. EG:

Either they're terrible employes or their employers are slave drivers.
Either way Qatar 2022 should not be permitted to go ahead. Humanity has sunk to new lows when they consider it appropriate to hold a sport in what is a glorified moralism.
