As it happens I also got my start date confirmed for Monday!
Looking forward to it now after something like 10 weeks sat at home.

At the last contract everyone was dressed so scruffy that I had to stop wearing a tie when the guy who hired me actually started to smarten himself up. The type of office where only the most senior managers normally wear a suit.

well done - hope they get you started soon, I am sure it will work out if they want you.

Originally posted by pmeswani View PostWell, I had another agency asking if I am available for an interview. I told them frankly that I am in a contract that is currently in limbo and that I will get back to them as soon as I know (before Friday). I have told the consulting / resourcing company that I have been asked to attend another interview and that I need to know where I stand. It may be a bad move on my part, but as it stands, I need to force the issue and either get them to release me from the contract, or get me on site.
If you have an interview and it turns into a gig, don't ask the first lot to cancel the contract, tell them that the indefinite delay to the start date is a breach of the contract and you're terminating it. It shouldn't be a one-sided relationship where they hold all the power.

If however I wasn't on site on the first agreed start date due to their mistake my loyalty would be gone and I would be interviewing.
If you sit there waiting how long are you going to wait for? A day or a week or a month.... Very quickly you are looking at a large gap on your CV and no money in the bank account....
In other news its remarkable how many other people still haven't read the entire thread..
