It happened to me - the only slush fund I had was some redundancy money which was used to pay advance rent and deposit for a room in a shared house and food whilst claiming JSA and having to pay FMH mortgage and bills. Apart from that I have 1000's in credit card debts, had a gig for 3 months and am on the bench again.
