Photoshop an image of him hanging from a lamppost and email it to him, cc-ing everyone else. Then lean over and ask if he saw your email.

I say no. When they ask why, I tell them it's either cos I turn my email off to avoid distraction or I have a rule that files everything they send into a folder called 'useless crap'. Depending on my mood.

Can't be arsed to Google it but the power consumption caused by unecessary emails around the world must be enough to power a small city.

Any email that I am only CC'd in there is an out look rule which hives them off into a separate folder to read another time

Just hit reply all and ask him to either quantify what he needs you to know or do or take you off the chain.

Abject humiliation normally works really well.

I'm working with that guy! Sits opposite me. Sends rambling and irrelevant emails to tons of people, including me. Hits send then leans over with 'Mary...Mary....hey, Mary? Mary? Did you see that email I just sent?'

    I always say no.
